3 super tips to lose fat
Do you exercise at least twice a week, even not enjoying it? Do the hardest workouts you can possible do and still not losing any fat? Here are top 3 tips to remember when trying to eat correctly:
1 – Be accountable
It’s proven that when you start to make a note of everything you eat (even that small chocolate bar you eat in the afternoon) it can help you to lose weight. You will probably think twice before you eat, helping you to make the right choices.
If on top of making your notes you have to show it to someone else you will feel the “pressure” to eat correctly. This person could be a friend, partner, someone at the gym, your personal trainer. The important is to have someone to hold you accountable for what you eat.
Even if you keep it to yourself this tip will help you to be aware of what you’ve been put into your mouth and how much. But you need to take your notes on the spot. If you wait to do it later in the day you’ll naturally forget.
Most people forget the snacks or think they are not important. You’ll probably forget to make a note of the extras on your meals (sides, sauces, dressings, etc.) and they bring loads of calories to your meal, more than you think.
2 – Eat more fibre
Fibres will fill you up which will make you eat less of other stuff and consequently less calories. Try adding vegetables like spinach, broccoli or mushrooms to your eggs (omelette). If you have smoothies or protein shakes try to blend raw nuts into it (not too much as they are high in calories).
Eat fruit between meals instead of cereal bars or other quick fixes which are high in calories.
3 – Follow a routine
Try to eat the same thing sometimes. Okay, I know, this doesn’t sound like fun, but you tend to eat more if you vary your diet everyday.
You might read somewhere we should have a healthy and balanced diet. 100% correct. I’m not saying you should eat the same thing the whole day, everyday. What I’m trying say is you should make the right choices for your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks and stick to it.
You are not going to do it everyday for the rest of your life but if you want to get “advanced results” you have to use more advanced strategies. You might be able to have one or two days rest from your routine depending on how your body responds to it and how indulgent you are going to be on your “day off”.
Try to apply this tip specially when travelling (if your job requires you to travel). Find the right choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and eat the same thing at each meal. That will minimize the damage – or even help you lose fat while on the road.
By the way, if you aren’t sure what foods are approved and what foods you need to avoid, keep an eye on my blog as I’ll soon write a post with some of these foods.
These are simple, underestimated but proven ways to improve your diet and lose more fat at home or away.
