I was advised to attend a Pilates class due to recurring back pain and I had very weak core strength due to a major operation a few years back. I started attending Alex’s Pilates class and found that not only did I really enjoy them, but my back pain disappeared. I felt much stronger and better about myself. His classes address every part of your body and his explanations of what and how the exercises work, made me understand the difference I was making to my overall core strength and well-being. I have been attending Pilates sessions with Alex for the past 4 years. Not only is Alex really skilled in what he does but he is a really good person who gets to know each of his clients and makes them feel comfortable at whatever level they are at. In the 4 years I have been attending, I have noticed a huge difference in my core strength and it makes me want to come back each week. I also attended Alex’s class whilst pregnant and I managed to keep going to my 37th week, I found that it helped to stay as flexible as I could. Alex adapted the movements for me so that I was able to still exercise safely and comfortably.

I started training with Alex after returning to work following the birth of my son.  I wanted to really get the most out of the limited amount of time I had for exercise as well as improve my health and vitality.  Alex has more than helped me deliver on these goals and has been supportive, adaptable, and encouraging along the way.  Alex consistently seems to know how to design each session to push me to the point of challenging myself just enough but not so much that I leave feeling exhausted.  His technical/training knowledge is impressive and he has introduced me to new training approaches and techniques that have helped me progress in a way I never have previously despite having been a regular gym bunny for a long time.  The end result is that I feel physically stronger than I ever have before which is practically very helpful with a growing toddler to carry around!  Alex has also been fully adaptable and tailored my training to my lifestyle, for example by designing a personal training programme I can follow in a hotel room with no equipment/at home when I have a spare half an hour of quiet time.  I really enjoy my sessions and the support and encouragement. Alex provides and would highly recommend him to anyone.”

“In January 2011 I had a dream to finish an Olympic distance triathlon. I ate terribly; I weighed 19st 9lb and took part in no exercise. This was a mammoth and (some would say) stupid task. Alex put together a programme of CV work over the 3 disciplines, resistance training, and advice on eating for me. It was tailored to my ability (zero) and over the months would get me to a place to finish the race. Alex would always be re-looking at the programme to see where we could add, and take away, and if we needed to do things that were more specific. I am proud to say I lost a total of 84 lbs and finished 25 min quicker than I wanted. It was only with Alex’s ongoing support and belief I reached my goal.
